A Caring Community where you can find Hope and Purpose
Close

A Caring Community is where we strive to work together. It's a place where we find Hope and Purpose as we follow Jesus Christ.

At South Langley Church we are convinced that life is filled with possibility, mystery and meaning. Allowing God to reawaken within us the curiosity to explore and discover Him brings hope into our lives.

We believe that Jesus is God’s gift to us that allows our hearts to respond to this wonder. You are invited to explore our website and to join us on a life changing journey of knowing and following Jesus.

A Brief History of

South Langley Mennonite Brethren Church

In 1948 a small group of young people from East Aldergrove decided to hold Sunday School classes in the Brookswood area. Using the Brookswood Community Hall they held classes every Sunday afternoon. The classes were well received, the children came and attendance grew.

Brookswood_SS.jpg In 1958 the East Aldergrove MB Church youth group started a fund to raise money for a permanent Brookswood Church building.

They purchased an acre of land on 36th Avenue in 1959 and services began officially on November 22, 1964 with 17 charter members.

After many happy years in this building the congregation moved, in 1977, to it's current location on 22nd Avenue.

We are grateful to God for His faithfulness.

"We always thank God for all of you... We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ."     1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

We seek to be a caring community where you can find hope and purpose.

Bulletin Bloopers: apparently these are real but not ours of course!

"Don't let worry kill you, let the church help."

Memory Passage

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Romans 8:28
