Position Title:​ Technical Director

Position Summary

The Technical Director will support the mission of South Langley Church by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the Technical Ministry in regards to audio, lighting, and video. The Technical Director’s ultimate goal is to ensure that the Sunday morning services are able to utilize technology efficiently, effectively, and strategically in order to enhance the experience of those attending.

While a strong familiarity with audio, lighting, and video issues is needed for the position, the emphasis is on empowering others to develop their skills, not doing everything yourself. The Technical Director should help with the staffing of the needed positions and then be prepared to fill in, train, and troubleshoot when necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sunday Morning Tech

• Responsible for overseeing Audio + Video tech operations for Sunday morning services, including Pro Presenter, Streaming, and Soundboard operation.

• Ensuring all forms of media (slides, videos, lyrics, etc) are set up, organized, and ready to go prior to the start of the service.

• Initiate successful communication with pastors, Director of Worship, and other staff in order to help facilitate A/V needs.

• Ensuring that every worship service at SLC is distraction free and technically well supported

• Given​: A/V Volunteers

• Received​: Worship Director

Job Standards and Requirements

• Education:​ Grade 12; Technical Training an Asset

• Experience:​ Entry-Level

• Skills: Basic Computer Literacy

• Abilities: ​Interpersonal skills, strong team player, ability to work well with a variety of people(volunteers & staff), diplomatic manner and able to manage conflicting schedules

• Personal:​ Warm-hearted, committed, dedicated and mature. Good character and reputation.
